CF27 Realignment Pack: 2026 College Football Conference Shuffle Trivia in The Film Room

Dark Reel Studios | Launch-Window Content — July 2026

Conference realignment officially took effect July 1, 2026 — the same week this pack goes live inside The Film Room's NCAA Mode. That's the whole strategy: half the sport can't confidently say which conference these programs are in right now, and that confusion is exactly what makes the mode addictive this month. Every question in the pack is built on the finalized, in-effect 2026 alignment — not a rumor, not a "starting next year." This is live.

The 2026 map, at a glance

  • Pac-12 (reborn, 8 teams): Boise State, Colorado State, Fresno State, Oregon State, San Diego State, Texas State, Utah State, Washington State
  • Mountain West (10 teams): Air Force, Hawaii, Nevada, New Mexico, North Dakota State, Northern Illinois, San Jose State, UNLV, UTEP, Wyoming
  • Conference USA (10 teams — lost Louisiana Tech + UTEP)
  • Sun Belt: gained Louisiana Tech (backfilling Texas State's departure to the Pac-12)
  • MAC: lost Northern Illinois to the Mountain West, gained Sacramento State (FCS call-up)
  • Power 4 (SEC, Big Ten, Big 12, ACC): unchanged this cycle

138 total FBS programs. 11 changed conferences. 2 moved up from FCS.

What the pack covers inside NCAA Mode

The CF27 pack is built in four escalating tiers — designed to reward fans who've kept up and catch the ones running last year's mental map:

  • The Pac-12 rebirth (easy–medium) — the two schools who held the conference together, the MWC powerhouse leading the new league, the Sun Belt program that jumped to hit the FBS minimum, and the scheduling quirk an eight-team football league had to invent.
  • The Mountain West shuffle (medium) — the FCS dynasty moving up, the MAC program heading west, and the Conference USA arrivals backfilling five departures.
  • The ripple effects (medium–hard) — Louisiana Tech's move to the Sun Belt, Sacramento State's FCS call-up to the MAC, and the fact that the Power 4 didn't touch this cycle at all.
  • Trap questions (hardest) — engineered for arguments. Boise State's current conference. UTEP's current conference. Whether Oregon State is "new" to the Pac-12 (it isn't). Rapid-fire timing, shortest clock in the app, built to catch the instinctive wrong answer.

How the pack plays

  • Difficulty progression: easy → hard, either as a gated ladder or shuffled into a single escalating round.
  • Trap questions run rapid-fire — shortest time limit in the app, because the whole point is catching instinctive wrong answers.
  • Live document through August: if additional conference or coaching moves land before the August 29 kickoff, the pack extends without disrupting the rest of the set.

The CF27 Realignment Pack is live now inside The Film Room's NCAA Mode. Pull it up before the group chat argues about which conference Boise State is in this year — because half of them are wrong.
